Original score to Charlie Steeds' 2020 film, Vampire Virus.

Charlie didn't want a retro-inspired score, he wanted it to sound like it was written in the 1980's. I set up my DAW to act as a 16-track recorder and made a virtual 80's studio in Logic.

Written during the final two weeks of 2019, I used a variety of synthesizers, drum machines, electric guitar and tenor saxophone.

Half of the tracks were written based on the screenplay, without any video. The other half were written to picture. The idea with the cues that weren't written to picture was to offer several different moods and variations on an idea to be edited throughout the film, hence longer intros and build-ups.

Instruments (based on memory, it was 2019!) - Sequential Circuits Prophet 5, Sequential Circuits Prophet VS, Roland Jupiter 8, Minimoog, E-MU Emulator 2, Yamaha DX-7, Roland TR-505, Roland TR-707, Fender Stratocaster, Tenor Saxophone.
